NYSORA Boot Camps

Beyond Simulation

Train Where Regional Anesthesia Happens

Most courses teach techniques. NYSORA Boot Camps show you how they unfold in real clinical practice.

Spend two days inside the OR observing live ultrasound-guided procedures, discussing cases with NYSORA faculty, and learning how experts make decisions in real time.

What Makes NYSORA Boot Camps Different?

Most regional anesthesia courses take place in lecture halls or simulation labs. Boot Camps take place inside a functioning hospital, where learning happens in real time.

Participants follow NYSORA faculty through the full rhythm of clinical care—from morning planning and patient preparation to ultrasound-guided blocks and postoperative discussions.
Every case becomes a teaching moment.

You see:
  • How blocks are selected for specific procedures
  • How ultrasound anatomy is interpreted in real patients
  • How complications and variations are managed
  • How experienced clinicians make rapid decisions in the OR

This format allows participants to connect theory with practice in a way that traditional workshops cannot replicate.

Bootcamp Overview

The Boot Camp Experience

Between patient cases, faculty guide participants through focused discussions, simulator practice, and clinical reasoning sessions designed to reinforce what is seen in the operating room.

Over two intensive days, participants gain exposure to:

  • A high volume of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our workshop programs

NYSORA’s Ultrasound-Guided Anesthesia Boot Camps are structured around real clinical practice. Attendees join the NYSORA faculty in the hospital setting, observing and learning during live patient care. Each day typically begins with case discussions and planning, followed by morning and afternoon blocks of clinical observation, where participants see multiple ultrasound-guided procedures performed in real time.

During a boot camp, participants can expect to observe over 40 ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia procedures performed by the NYSORA team. This immersive exposure gives attendees a unique opportunity to see how techniques are applied in daily patient care, across a wide range of clinical indications.

Boot camps are intentionally kept very small, with a maximum of 5 participants per session. This ensures a close instructor-to-participant ratio, allowing attendees to ask questions freely, receive personal guidance, and learn directly alongside NYSORA faculty in a real clinical environment.

No. Unlike symposiums, summits, and CME-accredited workshops, the boot camps are not CME accredited. Instead, they are designed as exclusive clinical immersion experiences where participants gain direct observational training and insight into real-world practice.

The registration fee covers the educational experience only. Lodging, transportation, and meals are not included. Participants will receive guidance on nearby accommodations and travel recommendations upon registration to help plan their stay.

Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected]. The standard policy is:

  • More than 30 days before the boot camp: 50% refund of fees paid.
  • Within 30 days of the event: no refund available.

Rebooking to a future boot camp may be possible depending on availability, but is not guaranteed. Please review the cancellation policy on the event page for details.

Yes. Registered participants are encouraged to review NYSORA’s Regional Anesthesia Manual and NYSORA 360 platform before attending. These resources provide foundational knowledge in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, ensuring that participants arrive familiar with the techniques they will see applied in clinical practice.

Absolutely. Boot camps are especially valuable for anesthesia residents, fellows, and early-career anesthesiologists who want to accelerate their understanding of ultrasound-guided procedures. The small-group, real-patient setting allows learners at all levels to benefit from close exposure to expert practice.

Yes. Attendees receive access to selected digital resources and educational content through NYSORA’s online platforms, supporting continued learning after the event. Alumni are also part of the broader NYSORA educational community, with opportunities to stay connected, attend future events, and build on the skills gained during the boot camp.
