Essentials of Ultrasound and Hand-Eye-Coordination

MASTERCLASS LEVEL 1
Location San Diego, CA, USA

In compliance with government and medical advice concerning COVID-19, the NYSORA Masterclass Level 1 Workshop in San Diego will not take place on May 8, 2020. These are challenging times during which we all need to dedicate our skills and efforts to our communities and patients before returning to education.

Wishing you all much success in the fight against the pandemic.

Best for.

The Essentials of Ultrasound and Hand-Eye-Coordination workshop is a 4-hour program and the fastest way for beginners to learn ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.

What will you learn.

You will learn how to operate ultrasound machines, optimize the image, and be able to immediately apply the new skills in common clinical applications. Importantly, you will acquire the needle-eye coordination in a small group setting, packed with energy and in learning pairs.

Learning methods.

During Master Course Level 1, you will receive one-on-one guidance, using NYSORA’s latest educational tools NYSORA SIMULATORS™. The NYSORA SIMULATORS realistically simulate human anatomy, fascial sheets, peripheral nerves, and vascular structures. They have a skin-like feel and allow endless hand-eye practice in a simulated environment before applying the learned skills to patients, with a maximum one ultrasound machine per two delegates and at least 80% hands-on training.

Learning objectives.

  1. Demonstrate how to correctly operate an ultrasound machine.
  2. Demonstrate how to optimize an ultrasound image.
  3. Explain and perform the five essential ultrasound maneuvers.
  4. Identify nerves, fascicles, tendons, blood vessels, bone, muscle and fascial planes with ultrasound.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to guide the needle using both in-plane and out-of-plane approaches in order to reach a specific target.

Accreditation statement.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and NYSORA.
