Prescriber's Guidelines - (con't)

These guidelines were developed for the use by Stony Brook University Hospital’s Acute Pain Service.

                                             PCA--NAUSEA
Always check vitals, oxygenation, blood pressure, mental status, then

1. Zofran 4mg IVPB q 6 hours
    Consider changing narcotic
2. Droperidol 0.625mg IVPB q 6 hours or
3. Metoclopramide 20 mg IVPB q 6 hours with Benadryl 25mg IV q 6hrs
4. Consider Naloxone drip 1-2 microgram/min in SICU,
MICU OR PICU
